Mine Countermeasures
The specialist Mine Countermeasures configuration is based on an AH140 variant that has been optimised to embrace modularity and allow for quick re-role to other configurations. This significantly reworked design enables AH140 to embark a considerable number of off-board assets such as USVs, UAVs and UUVs, alongside command & control facilities to analyse data from the assets and to coordinate the MCM activity. Employing the bespoke features of this variant enables the platform to carry out both Channel Standoff and Area Standoff concepts of operation within a contested environment.
-
ROLE SPECIFIC FEATURES
With extensive sections of the ship dedicated to an extended vehicle hangar, this variant has the space to re-role the uncrewed vehicles to deliver the various MCM tasks, including search, classification and disposal, and carry out the necessary maintenance on these vehicles to sustain the required tempo of operations.
-

This variant of AH140 will deliver an amphibious force, together with land mobility enablers, to carry out raiding operations against adversary targets ashore.
-
ROLE SPECIFIC FEATURES
Six surface connectors, aviation facilities to maintain an AW101 MERLIN sized aircraft and a flight deck sized for CH-47 CHINOOK will support a rapid transfer of troops ashore from a location over the horizon. Vehicle ramps grant the ability to offload land mobility enablers to permit these troops to reach objectives over greater distances from the point of delivery.
